the first to tell you that Diljit Dosanjh is all set to
romance Ileana D’Cruz in Shaad Ali's yet-untitled directorial venture,
to go on floors in September. However, his plans didn’t fall through and Ileana
backed out of the project at the
last minute.
Since then Shaad
was hunting for a new girl and now, Taapsee Pannu has been roped in to star
opposite Diljit Dosanjh.

According to
Mumbai Mirror, the movie is based on real life hockey player, also ex-captain,
Sandeep Singh and the woman who inspired him. “It’s a beautifully woven love
story about two ace hockey players, where the woman helps the man achieve his
dream and go on to lead the country. It’s a romantic journey of loss and love,
dreams and hope,” reveals a source while speaking with Mirror.
Taapsee and
Diljit will go through intense training for hockey under professionals. The
film is set to go on floors on October 4th. The film will be produced by
Chitrangada Singh and Sneha Rajani.

Meanwhile, Ileana D’Cruz chose Ajay Devgn’s Raid over
the Shaad Ali film and bowed out of the latter .
To talk of Raid,
set in Uttar Pradesh in the ’80s, the film will see Ajay plays a no-nonsense IT
officer and Ileana is his love interest in a role crucial to the narrative. The
film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak. It has
been scripted by Ritesh Shah of Pink and Airlift fame. It is expected to roll a
week after Baadshaho’s release on September 1 and is scheduled to release
on April 20, 2018.
